19th Century Elegance
TAS Interiors had the opportunity to bring a 19th century traditional dining table into the 21st century.

The dining room is naturally lit by two large windows which we utilized to bring the element of the outside garden into the space. The intention was to maintain an open feel with the landscape through the windows which became part of the dining experience.

The window treatments were chosen to highlight the architecture of the windows and the dining space. We used a simple silk drapery fabric but gave it life through the intensity of color and complexity of design details.

Another key element of the space was a custom 18 karat gold ceiling painted on an oxblood base color and hand brushed with silver leaf. The solid brass chandelier set in a hand painted medallion combined with the ceiling finish to give the illusion of stars at night through the reflection of light on the ceiling. We used a silver leaf chest with hand painted humming birds to continue the connection with the garden outside.

The overall colors of the space were chosen to lift the spirits and create a level of warmth and appetite in a room that gathers family and friends together to share moments of happiness.

A personal connection for the client was maintained with the incorporation of the client’s artwork and accessories hand selected from the personal collection of the client.
